When you book, you are engaging yourself to a contract with us.

Bookings and Cancellation
Reservations made through third party booking sites are in accordance with the third party’s Terms and Conditions.

Reservations made within 60 days before arrival date are confirmed and guaranteed upon payment of the full amount.

Early Bird bookings, an option to pay a one-off payment of the full amount (100%) to confirm and guarantee the reservation, otherwise a deposit of 25%  will be required at booking and remaining balance due 60 days before arrival.

Payments can be made by bank transfer, French cheque or cash if booking on site.

By credit or debit card, via Stripe.
Stripe fees on top:

1.5% (+10% VAT) + 0.25€ for standard cards from the European Economic Area
e.g. Stripe fee calculation for an amount of 150€.
2.25€ (1.5%) + 0.23€ (10% VAT)
= 2.48€ + 0.25€
= 2.73€ stripe fee

2.5% (+10% VAT) + 0.25€ for UK cards.
e.g. Stripe fee calculation for an amount of 150€.
3.75€ (2.5%) + 0.38€ (10% VAT)
= 4.13€ + 0.25€
= 4.38€ stripe fee

3.25% (+10% VAT) + €0.25 for International cards
e.g. Stripe fee calculation for an amount of 150€.
4.88€ (3.25%) + 0.49€ (10% VAT)
= 5.37€ + 0.25€
= 5.62€ stripe fee

For any cancellation after a booking has been confirmed, a 3% fee will be charged to the guest as a processing fee.

Self catering apartments:
Cancellation is by email, telephone or a registered letter. At the very latest 30 days prior to your arrival date, by noon french time.

If the booking is cancelled less than 30 days before arrival, the full booking amount will be charged.

B&B stays:
Cancellation is by email, telephone or a registered letter. At the very latest 14 days prior to your arrival date, by noon french time.

If the booking is cancelled less than 14 days before arrival, the full booking amount will be charged.

In the event of a no show, a failure to arrive before 11 PM, without notification, on the date reserved, we reserve the right to withhold the total amount of your stay.
Booking reduction (after arrival date), the full cost of the booking is charged.

Change in booking or Cancellation by Us
In unforeseen circumstances that may force us to change or cancel a booking, we will contact you as soon as possible.

If we have to make a significant change to your reservation, we will offer compensation. In the event of a cancellation, all payments received will be reimbursed to you in full. We will do our best to recommend and help you find a suitable accommodation nearby. Unless the change or cancellation is a result of “force majeure”, such events may include natural or nuclear disaster, war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside our control.

Check in & Check out
Arrival time is between 4 PM and 8 PM. If arriving outside these times, an advisory by email, phone or SMS is strongly recommended prior to arrival so we can provide you with a warm welcome.

Departure time is before 10 AM.
We ask that you vacate the accommodation, at the very latest 10 AM, to allow us enough time to clean and prepare the accommodation.

Late check-out must be agreed upon beforehand with the owners for a maximum extension of 1 hour.

Taxe de sejour
Tourist tax is collected by the Department of the Dordogne.
It is paid at booking or at the very latest at check-out before departure.

1.15€ per adult, per night for the apartments.
0.75€ per adult, per night for the B&B guest rooms.

Unless booked through a third party booking site and this tax paid in advance, we are required to collect this tax on behalf of the Community of Communes of the Vallée de l’Homme.

Minimum Stay
The self catering apartments in the old mill and forge require at least 2 nights stay.
Subject to change without prior notice.

Chateau bedrooms on a B&B basis are with 2 nights minimum stay.

Changing of reservation dates
If you wish to change the dates of your stay, you must inform us in writing, by email or letter.
Change of dates will be based on availability and to our discretion.

If you wish to change your dates and original booking falls within less than 30 days before original arrival date, the full amount is non-refundable.

If the dates you want to book have a higher rate, the difference must be paid in full prior to the change of dates taking effect.
Date change is only confirmed when you have received a written confirmation from us.

Prices
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This does not affect bookings already made.

Non Refundable Rate
We offer a huge discount when you book the non-refundable rate.
In booking this discounted rate, you accept that the booking will be non-refundable.


Parking
Our onsite private parking is free and available for your use during your stay at Domaine de La Barde.
Please be informed that the use of our private parking is at your own risk. 


Damage, breakage and missing items

We ask kindly that you treat our home with love and respect as you do with yours. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages which you cause to the accommodation and its contents.

Please report any breakages as soon as possible to give us time to fix it before the next guests arrive or for a better experience during your stay.

We do not normally charge for breakages, but we reserve the right to charge for repair or making good if the damage is significant.

Make up, sunscreen and self tanning lotions
Please refrain from using self tanning creams/spray, tinted sunscreen and tinted creams that stain bedding and towels.

Please wash off sunscreen before bed at night to avoid damage to linens and soft furnishings.

Any staining that cannot be removed on linens, towels and soft furnishings will be charged for, especially if professional cleaning will be required.

We also ask that you avoid using towels for polishing shoes. Please use a dedicated makeup removal product to prevent stains on towels or sheets as this is a common occurrence and one that complicates stain removal.

Missing Items from the accommodations.
We reserve the right to charge for items missing from our rooms.

Smoking
We are a non-smoking property.
Smoking is prohibited indoors.

Pets
We are sorry to say but we are unable to accommodate pets in our property.

Keys
You have complete access to your accommodation throughout your stay. Keys are given to you, any lost keys will be charged at 30€ per set.

Antisocial behaviour
Domaine de La Barde is our family home. We ask that all guests behave and treat with respect our family, our home and all the guests staying in the property.

We reserve the right to terminate an individual’s stay where deemed necessary through unacceptable behaviour or as a result of actions which are likely to endanger or offend others.

Rude and abusive guests will be asked to leave the property with immediate effect.

Meals
If you have severe allergies, we strongly advise the provision of your own food.
Please note that while we do our best to cater for all dietary requirements we cannot guarantee that our kitchen is completely allergen free.

Fireworks
No lighting of fireworks is allowed, it can set fire to dry areas of our gardens and the countryside.

Water features
Our property is surrounded by a stream, we have a big pond too that is unfenced, it is not safe for children to be roaming freely without supervision. Children are the sole responsibility of their caretakers and/or their parents.

Please be aware and make sure everyone in your party knows the location of the stream and pond.

Swimming Pool
We strongly advise not to dive in the pool. It is dangerous not only to you but to other guests using the facility. 

We recommend showering before getting into the pool to maintain healthy water for your health and for others and to apply sunscreens after your swim.
Sunscreen and suntan lotions leave awful stains in the pool liner.

Liability
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees whilst acting in the course of their employment.

We strongly advise our guests to obtain travel insurance cover, as we cannot be liable for injury, loss, damage, and delay of flights, expense or inconvenience of any kind or any cause.

We are happy to return items that have been left following departure.
A minimum charge of 20€ will be required to cover postage and packaging.

VAT
VAT not applicable – Article 293b of CGI, Value-Added Tax exempted.

Privacy Policy
We are compliant with Data Privacy rules. We only keep your personal information that you have provided us for a period of 3 years after your stay for commercial purposes, such as letting you know of any offers or discounts available.

We guard your privacy and we are the only ones who have access to your personal information. We do not pass this information on to any third party. You have the right to request your information be modified or deleted at any time by contacting us.
