Here at Domaine de La Barde, we offer:
* 3 guest rooms in the chateau on a bed and breakfast basis. (July & August)
* 5 self catering accommodations with one bedroom each. (May to September)
Four apartments (4) are housed in the 14th century walnut mill. Right next to it is a cottage, an old forge from the 13th century.
The domaine is composed of three main buildings, the chateau, the old mill and the old forge.
Both the mill and the forge are steps away from the main building, Château de La Barde.
Here you will find the chateau adorned by its french garden of yew hedge topiary. The mill and the forge are surrounded by secular trees.
In the estate grounds you will find the tennis court and the outdoor swimming pool.
There are 2 hectares of managed gardens with the stream of La Douch running through it, also a small pond which serves as a nursery to young fish that will swim their way to the vezere and dordogne river in their adulthood.
There is also an apple orchard, a potager (vegetable and herbs garden) and an additional 2 hectares of wild meadow fields to discover.
We are located in the sweet little town of Le Bugue in Périgord Noir, a small market town on the banks of the Vezere river.
The domaine is located between the neighbouring village of Limeuil and Les Eyzies.
Limeuil is named as one of the most beautiful villages in France and where the Vezere river meets and join the Dordogne river.
Les Eyzies is the world capital of prehistory and home to France’s national prehistory museum.
The property is only a few minutes walk to the town centre of Le Bugue, where all amenities you will require during your visit to the Dordogne can be found.
