A friendly and laid back painting holiday in South West France! Dordogne Art Retreat!
Our week-long painting holiday led by local artist, Els Bulsink.
Join us for a week of fun and creativity in the endearing and charming Domaine de La Barde.
Els is a mixed media artist and bronze sculptor, whose work is inspired by curves in her acrylic paintings, watercolours, pastels, and bronze statuettes.
JULY 4 – JULY 11, 2026
We will spend a week together learning how to mix colour, understand perspective and develop techniques in acrylic.
An all-round course for beginners and art enthusiasts.
Your day will start with a delicious and generous breakfast, lunch will either be provided in the dining room or a packed lunch/picnic if we are painting off site.
Dinner will be a delicious meal prepared by Tim, paired with locally sourced wine.
Tea or coffee after dinner. There is a drinks bar to help yourselves to if you fancy a cocktail, beer or G&T before or after dinner.
Accommodation is provided at Domaine de La Barde. Luxurious guest rooms with your own en-suite bathroom, definitely no sharing with other guests.
Retreat group sizes run on an intimate number of participants: a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12, allowing everyone to have adequate time for each student to receive one to one support.
What’s included:
- 7 nights accommodation. Guest rooms are on the first and second level of the chateau, accessed by stairs.
- All meals including drinks and wine. (excluding Tuesday’s lunch and dinner)
- Unlimited tea/coffee throughout the day during your stay with us.
- 5 days of art tuition
- Art supplies will be provided
- Excursions are included
- Transportation while staying in Domaine de La Barde, that is part of the program.
What is not included:
- Lunch and dinner on Tuesday
- Transportation arriving to and departing from Domaine de La Barde
(Airfare, taxi and train tickets) - Holiday – Travel insurance (strongly recommended)

Single occupancy with en-suite bathroom:

Couples / Double occupancy with en-suite bathroom:

Non-participating partner sharing the same guest room:
2000€
A non-refundable deposit of 500€ will be required to confirm your slot, due balance 60 days before the start date of the workshop.
